. . . I don't claim that I know everything about life. But one thing I am certain that apart from the love and mercies of Christ—I AM NOTHING. " But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."(Galatians 6:14). All to JESUS I surrender. . .all to Thee my Blessed Savior. . .I surrender all. Thank YOU my Precious LORD JESUS for all Your blessings in my life. I love YOU, and thank YOU for loving me first. Forever Yours--Erlinda Mejia Olson

Ten Rules For A Happy Marriage

By: Radisson Road Baptist Church
(via INTO THE LIGHT Journal)

Seek a Christian mate - 2 Corinthians 6:14 - Foundation of true love - love of Christ in both hearts - one in Spirit, interests, activities.  Seek the Lord's leading to the RIGHT mate - Genesis 2:18, James 4:13-15.

Keep yourself clean - Morally - Exodus 20:14 - 7th commandment - Do not commit adultery - James 1:27 - unspotted from the world - You want a pure mate; your mate has just as much right to expect purity.  Hebrews 13:4 - marriage honorable in all.  Proverbs 31:11 - (virtuous woman) - her husband doth safely trust in her.

Physically - clean dirt (from honest toil) vs the accumulated type (indicates laziness). No disgrace to get dirty, but a real disgrace is to stay dirty! B.O. body odor - Lifebuoy soap - halitosis - Listerene!

Habits - tobacco - cigarettes make death 9 times as likely from lung cancer; alcohol - beer, liquor, wine - the drunkard in the gutter would not have gotten there if he had not taken the FIRST DRINK!  Reading matter and entertainment - do not poison yourself or your children with filth.

Don't be lazy - husband support family - 1 Timothy 5:8; Proverbs 6:6-11 - "When poverty comes in at the door, love flies out the window," Do little things around the house and yard to keep the home looking respectable. Wife - be a good housekeeper - Proverbs 31. House and family cared for. Be a good manager - live within the income - let the Jones go!

Be a good mate - face problems together - learn that "what is good for both is best for each" - unity of the family unit - all for both, indivisible! - be married - one flesh - Genesis 2:24 - defraud not one another - 1 Corinthians 7:5.  Keep up the courtship, marriage comes first, lasts long after the children have grown and flown - many childless marriage are happy ones. Appreciate each other - and tell your mate so - in many ways; love each other - and practice it - Proverbs 3:27.  The three sweetest words in any language are  "I LOVE YOU."  Use this key to happiness often!

Have your own home to yourselves - Genesis 2:24 - leave your father and mother - cleave unto your wife.  Not just your own house - move away if need be. Receive good advice courteously but make your own decisions in sweet counsel together.

Keep from nagging - Proverbs 27:15; 19:14 and belittling - Proverbs 14:1-3 - You are mates, not antagonists!

Keep family secrets from being peddled abroad - Gossip says: only two kinds of secrets - "those not worth keeping and those too good to keep." Titus 2:5; Proverbs 11:22.

Don't both get angry at the same time - a soft answer turneth away wrath - Proverbs 15:1.  It takes two to make a fight!

Have a Christian home - 24 hours a day - children learn by example - neighbors are quick to learn of inconsistencies and hypocrisy. Family devotions. Lead your own children to Christ IN THE HOME! Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1-14; 5:22-23

Have a spiritual church home - where the gospel is preached, lived, and taught. Hebrews 10:25' Acts 2:47; 1 Timothy 3:15 - Encourage your children to serve the LORD.

Blessed be the TIE
that BINDS our HEARTS
in Christian
LOVE!
